Battlefield 4 will launch in the UK on November 1, 2013, three days after the game goes on sale in North America, EA has announced.

The game will also launch on Xbox One and PS4, in addition to the previously announced Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions. The game will not be launching on Wii U.

Whether the next-gen versions will be available alongside the other formats on day one though still isn’t clear.

An update from the Battlefield 4 Twitter last night suggested that all versions – including Xbox One and PS4 – will be available in the US on October 29. However, EA’s press release states that the two next-gen versions will launch “this holiday”.

In addition to announcing a release date, EA also unveiled the first details on Battlefield 4’s first expansion pack.

Battlefield 4: China Rising will be available to pre-order customers for free shortly after launch and will feature four “massive maps” set in China, new vehicles and “high-tech military tech”.

Xbox One was announced in Washington last night. The next-gen console features 8GB RAM, a 500GB HDD, three operating systems and introduces a “completely redefined Xbox LIVE”.

The console goes on sale later this year.
