The day one patch for the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 is a whopping 167MB, which by patch standards is pretty darn big.
The patch will be ready and waiting once the game is loaded up on an internet connected console, with users being prompted to download an install. Those without a connected console will be able to jump into the single-player campaign without updating.
There’s still no official word from EA on what exactly the patch does.
Battlefield 3 launches tomorrow in the US and on Friday across Europe.
At over 150MB this is a pretty huge update, suggesting that developer DICE has changed a considerable amount of the game, either as a result of the beta or simply because the team ran out of time to implement everything before the game went off to manufacturing.
