EA has shipped 10 million units of Battlefield 3 to retail worldwide, with sell-through to consumers said to be strong, the publisher said overnight in its Q2 investor call.

“Battlefield 3 was launched on Tuesday and has opened very strong,” said John Riccitiello, chief executive officer and executive director. “We shipped 10 million units to retail and we are already receiving reorders. The data is still early but sell-through is strong.”

Recently appointed COO Peter Moore added: “As you know, we launched this title earlier this week, and the results have been tremendous, thanks to the superb quality of the title produced by our DICE Studio in Stockholm, and the world-class marketing executed by our teams globally.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the launch of Battlefield 3.”

Battlefield 3 launched in the US on Tuesday and hits stores across Europe today. We thought it was pretty good as you’ll see in our Battlefield 3 review.
