Battlefield 3’s marketing push will get off to a flying start with EA having secured a slot during a half-time ad break of the Manchester United and Manchester City FA Cup semi-final on ITV1.
The ad will be an edited version of a new trailer shown at the 2011 MCV Industry Excellence Awards last week.
“We’ve had an amazing response from community and industry and we’re extremely excited to be able to show so much gameplay footage this early in the campaign,” said Colin Blackwood, UK Business Lead, EA.
All this and the game won’t actually hit stores until November 2011.

With the game still so far off, this is a very astute move from EA which is hoping to build hype for the game in the run-up to its November 2011 release.
The publisher understands that in order to compete with Activision’s Call of Duty, it needs hype and excitement to be spread through the mainstream in addition to the hardcore shooter base.
