Sony has secured one week PlayStation 3 exclusivity on all full-blown expansion packs for Battlefield 3, starting with Back to Karkand later this year.
Back to Karkand is a themed expansion featuring four of the most popular maps from Battlefield 2, re-imagined in the Frostbite 2 engine. The DLC also offers new weapons and vehicles, unique in-game dog tags, new persistence and new Trophies.
DICE has also confirmed that the Battlefield 3 Open Beta will run September 29 to October 10. If you’ve redeemed a Medal of Honor: Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition Online Pass, you will receive early access via a personal email invitation from DICE that includes 48 hour early access.
The beta features the map Operation Métro, seen in the trailer below. Battlefield 3 launches October 28.
