EA and DICE’s Battlefield 3 achieved sales of almost two million units during October in the US, according to NPD data.

Battlefield 3 sold a touch under two million units, while Batman: Arkham City shifted just over 1.5 million copies. NPD also confirmed first month Rage sales of 550,000 units.

“New software releases performed very well this month,” said NPD analyst Anita Frazier. “Seven of the top 10 titles were new October releases, and the top 10 titles sold 23 per cent more units than did the top 10 last October.

“Between Uncharted 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, and Zelda: Skyward Sword, I expect November to be a huge month for new physical retail sales.”

As NPD analyst Anita Frazier predicts, November is set to be a “huge month” for game sales – we already know that Modern Warfare 3 shifted a massive 6.5 million units day one in the US and UK combined.
