Battlefield 1’s UK opening week sales were higher than Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline’s combined, GFK Chart-Track has revealed. That’s excluding digital sales, too, which are also likely to have been higher than either of the two previous games.

The shooter debuted at No.1 in this week’s charts, pushing last week’s top-seller FIFA 17 down to No.2. Opening week sales said to be “just under” those of The Division (which is reported to be the best-selling game so far this year), although EA has yet to disclose the actual number.

Elsewhere in the charts, Mafia 3 holds onto the No.3 spot while Gears of War 4 slips to No.4. Arkham Asylum/City remaster compilation Batman: Return to Arkham debuts at No.5, with Civilization 6 popping up at No.15. The majority of Civ’s sales are likely to have been digital, however, which aren’t accounted for in GFK’s charts. The only other new release, LEGO Harry Potter Colection, meanwhile, debuts at No.19.

PlayStation VR titles took a bit of a tumble during their second week, though, with Until Dawn: Rush of Blood slipping from No.9 to No.21, and PlayStation VR Worlds falling from No.7 to No.29. They’re the only VR games in the entire top 40.

UK Video Game Charts (Week Ending October 26, 2016):

  2. FIFA 17
  3. Mafia 3
  4. Gears of War 4
  5. Batman: Return to Arkham
  6. WWE 2K17
  7. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration
  8. Forza Horizon 3
  9. Grand Theft Auto V
  10. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  11. Star Wars Battlefront
  12. Skylanders Imaginators

  15. Civilization VI
  16. Destiny: The Collection
  17. Fallout 4

With a successful first week under its belt, though, will Battlefield 1 be able to hold onto the top spot next week, or will Titanfall 2 take the crown? Skyrim: Definitive Edition lands this week, too, and has an equally good chance of landing in the top 3.
