DICE has revealed the first details on Battlefield 1’s Giant’s Shadow map, a free multiplayer map due to be introduced to the game in December.

Available to all players free of charge, Giant’s Shadow is set in France during 1918’s Battle of the Selle, and sees the fight moving “out of the trenches and into open country where a massive crashed airship casts its shadow onto the battlefield”. That’s the giant, I’m assuming.

“The British forces have broken through the Hindenburg line and are now in pursuit towards an important railway center,” says DICE. “Fierce infantry and tank engagements ensue on the open ground and river banks alongside the Cateu-Wassigny railway where an armored train can still turn the tide.”

There aren’t any screenshots unfortunately, although we do have the artwork above. And even though Giant’s Shadow will be free to everyone, if you pre-order the game, you’ll receive 7 days early access to it ahead of everybody else.

Battlefield 1 launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 21.
