Battlefield 1 will include support for high dynamic range on Xbox One, Microsoft has revealed.

The functionality will be introduced via an online update, a new trailer released earlier this afternoon says, although it will only be compatible with the new Xbox One S. You’ll obviously need an HDR-supported TV to go along with it, too.

HDR expands the range of contrast and colour, allowing for a greater amount of detail to appear on-screen. So far Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4 and Scalebound have all been confirmed to include HDR support.

HDR is also a key function of the new PS4 Pro, although it will also be coming to all PS4s this week via a system update. It isn’t yet clear, however, whether Battlefield 1’s HDR functionality will also be supported on PS4 or PS4 Pro.

Battlefield 1 launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 21.
