Battlefield 1's massive summer update is now available to download, adding much-requested Xbox One X 4K support for the celebrated World War One shooter.
The update is required for anyone who wants to take Battlefield 1 online (so presumably that's most of you), and also introduces a wealth of other improvements for the game, including rebalanced Shock Operations for select maps and reduced loading times when entering the soldier customisation screen.
Meanwhile, various weapons have also been tweaked, with the M1903 Experimental now having a secondary fire mode and the C96 pistol reload time being adjusted so it better fits its animation.

Battlefield 1 was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in October 2016, and helped to reinvigorate the first-person shooter genre, which at the time was getting bogged down in futuristic nonsense and shouty men with guns in place of personalities.
DICE is currently working on Battlefield V, which brings the series back to its World War II roots.
Much like rival shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield V will have a battle royale mode, though we don't know much about it right now.
