Battle.net users can now make a free change to their BattleTag, Blizzard has announced ahead of the launch of Overwatch.

“As we prepare for the launch of Overwatch next week, we have refreshed the free BattleTag update for all Battle.net accounts!” explains Blizzard. “We often see feedback with requests to update your BattleTag, and as we move into a new universe filled with soldiers, scientists, adventurers and oddities it’s important that you have a nickname that represents you!”

Those who like their current tag don’t need to take any action. Those who wish to change can do so by visiting their Account Management Dashboard and clicking the Change link under Account Details to the right of the current BattleTag.

The change will be visible on Battle.net Friends List and within Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.

Blizzard also notes that it is “exploring the possibilities” of offering more regular BattleTag updates.

Overwatch will launch on May 24 and can be pre-ordered now from Amazon, which includes the Noire Widowmaker Skin bonus.
