Batman: Arkham Origins will not release on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, Warner Bros. Montreal has confirmed.
Senior producer Ben Mattes ruled out the potential for a next-gen port on Twitter earlier today, saying: “I can 100 per cent confirm that Arkham Origins will only ship on the announced platforms. It is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One.”
The game is due to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U on October 25, just days before next-gen consoles are expected to ship.
It isn’t yet clear why Warner Bros. has chosen to skip a release on next-gen systems, particularly given how good the game looks on current-gen. Could Rocksteady be preparing a true next-gen Batman title for the future…?
More on Arkham Origins is expected to be revealed during Gamescom next week.
