Remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are heading to PS4 and Xbox One this summer, Warner Bros has finally confirmed.
Available in the UK from July 29, the games have been remastered in Unreal Engine 4 and feature upgraded character models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders. While a framerate and resolution target has yet to be revealed, the titles will presumably run at 1080p. Each games’ DLCs are thrown in as well, although the third game, Batman: Arkham Origins, will not be included.
The remastered versions aren’t being developed by original creators Rocksteady Studios, however, with development duties instead being handed over to Virtuous. Virtuous has previously developed the PS4 ports of Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD.
The announcement follows over a year after the collection was first rumoured, and subsequent leaks from retailers and European ratings board PEGI.
The collection will be available for £39.99, although it isn’t yet clear whether the two titles will be available to purchase individually. For the first screenshots head through here, or take a look at the debut trailer below.
