There is a “possibility” that players will be able to share complete vehicles in upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive platformer Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, developer Rare has revealed.

As the title suggests, Nuts & Bolts, Rare’s follow up to the N64’s Banjo-Tooie, features vehicle creation using parts discovered by players during exploration of the game world.

Currently players will only be able to share vehicle blueprints with players, both friends and strangers. These blueprints tell players what parts are needed to construct a particular vehicle. They do not provide them.

However, Rare is still undecided as to whether it will allow complete vehicle sharing over Xbox LIVE when the game is finally released this November.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at E3 2008 during a hands-on preview of the game, Rare studio manager Mark Betteridge said that there wasn’t a “100%” decision on such a move.

“There’s still some debate about, well, wouldn’t it be cool if I could share the vehicle even if only in the test track rather than in the full game?” he said.

“We’re still in the balancing and polishing stage of the game at the moment. There’s not a 100% decision on it really.”

If Rare decides to allow vehicle sharing, it would put the game in the same user-generated bracket as Sony’s highly anticipated upcoming platformer LittleBigPlanet and Will Wright’s inbound PC evolution sim Spore.

When asked if there is a possibility the finished Nuts & Bolts will allow players to share vehicles, Betteridge said: “Yeah, possibly. If we think it’s a definite worthwhile improvement on it.”
