The beloved origin characters of Baldur’s Gate 3 have been ripped out of their RPG homes and plopped into the frantic fighting game arenas of Tekken 8.

While many are focused on the new mod tools for BG3, adding functional Pokeballs, new maps and cut content, one fan has decided to bring the game’s party into the world of Tekken. In this hilarious mod, all of the RPG’s origin characters can now beat each other up in spectacular fashion.

Baldur’s Gate 3 in Tekken 8

Modder DoctorSauce ripped the models of the game’s six origin characters from Larian‘s RPG and added them as alternate costumes for different Tekken characters.

The iconic vampire Astarion replaces Lee, the always-lovable Shadowheart replaces Jun, Karlach is a skin for Azucena, Wyll is a reskin for Shaheen, Lae’zel replaces Reina, and Gale is Claudio.

In a post on the game’s subreddit, the modder shared a highlight reel of the Baldur’s Gate characters squaring off against each other in the fighting game. It’s hilarious and silly watching Gale spin around with Claudio’s stylish move set or seeing Astarion deliver a massive kick to the chest. Someone needs to mod in Cazador for us to deliver some real justice.

How to get the goods

In order to play the new Tekken mod, you’ll obviously need to own a copy of Tekken 8 on PC. Next, go to DoctorSauce’s page on TekkenMods here and download each character individually.

While these mods have been around for the past seven months, they have recently been updated to work better in Tekken 8. Characters have been swapped around, such as Lae’zel now replacing Reina instead of Nina, to fit better with their models.

While the mods may not be as exciting as entire custom campaigns for BG3, it’s incredibly fun to see, and a sign of the game’s lasting legacy.

With Larian moving onto an entirely new game that could release sometime in 2028, the BG3 community will have to support itself, outside of a few new patches on the way.
