EA has confirmed reports that two of its AAA action titles, Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2, will now ship during the publisher’s fiscal 2009. This gives the titles a release window beginning April 2008 (ending March 2009), although both are expected to reach retail this calendar year.

European gamers were dealt a further blow; EA CEO John Riccitiello indicating during a conference call that Rock Band won’t be released in Europe until fiscal 2009. There was, however, some positive news, with Riccitiello confirming the game is heading to Wii.

“What’s probably the most interesting piece right now is the coming launch on the Wii… and then the fiscal ’09 launch across Europe against all of the SKU,” said Riccitiello.

The CEO also refused to be pushed into pinning down a date for ambitious simulation title spore, only revealing that it will be released “before the holidays”.
