Warner Bros and Turtle Rock have announced co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood‘s open beta will take place this August.

The news came alongside a new gameplay trailer revealed during last night’s Summer Game Fest Kickoff Show, and it was also announced there’ll also be an early access period for those who pre-order the game.

The Back 4 Blood Open Beta kicks off with an early access on August 5 through to August 9, with everyone else allowed to play between August 12 and August 16. Those interested in getting some hands on time with the spiritual Left 4 Dead successor can sign up on the game’s official website.

An FAQ also reveals that if you already took part in the Alpha test back in December, you’ll be able to get in on the Early Access without a pre-order. Finally, the game’s official Twitter account confirmed that the beta will also include crossplay and cross-gen support, with “intended support” for the feature at launch.

Get your eyes on the new gameplay trailer below. It’s also worth noting that there’ll be more Back 4 Blood gameplay footage during WB Games’s own E3 presentation this weekend, set for Sunday at 10pm UK time.

Back 4 Blood launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on October 12.
