PlayStation Australia is giving away four replica Platinum trophies as part of a new competition, and every other region must be feeling quite jealous. These (sadly not real) platinum trophies were revealed with a chuckle-inducing video, which showed someone swiping all their other trophies from the mantelpiece to make room for the elusive platinum. Unfortunately, this competition will only be for Australians. I know, I’m gutted too.

The competition is called PlayStation Plus Platinum Hunters. One of four trophies will be awarded to the person who’s the first to unlock every trophy for a specific game. The first game will be FIFA 18, and the competition will begin on September 26. This will be followed by Gran Turismo Sport on October 18, and then Call of Duty: World War II on November 3. I’ve no idea what the fourth game will be, but maybe it’ll be a Christmas surprise, or something like that.

The giveaway is a cool idea, and while I know the trophies may not be real platinum (obviously) it does make me wonder why PlayStation hasn’t done something like this before. Those Aussies are onto something, and hopefully other regions will follow suit.

If you’re an Aussie, you can check out the competition on the PlayStation website.
