Atlus has informed IGN that Trauma Center: Second Opinion will be released alongside the Wii when the console hit stores later this year. Second Opinion is based on the DS game which sees players slicing open patients with a stylus. Players take the role of Dr. Stiles, and treat patients who are suffering from varying injuries.

Information on the Wii title is a little thin on the ground at the moment, but it has been revealed that the game will maintain the same anime-style story, with defibrillator pads now playing a part in surgeries. The transition from stylus control to using the Wii’s controller would appear a natural one, with control mechanics likely to mimic those in the DS game.

Nintendo is still to announce a release date for the Wii, but many predict the console could arrive as early as the American Thanks Giving holiday.
