This morning saw the release of Missile Command on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The game stays true to the original arcade classic, but features an enhanced mode which sees players acting as regional commander of three anti-missile batteries defending six cities in their zone.

The planet Zardon is under attack and it’s up to the player to defend the cities from a relentless hail of ballistic missiles.

Each level is completed when all enemy weaponry has been taken out, with bonus points awarded for cities which remain intact.

Visuals have been enhanced with 3D graphics and the soundtrack has also been given a suitably modern update. As a bonus for those with a TV capable of displaying it, the game also supports HD resolutions up to 1080p. The game also features two player action, locally or over Xbox LIVE.

As ever players will have 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points to achieve.

Missile Command is out now, priced 400 Microsoft Points.
