PlatinumGames’ Astral Chain topped the charts as this week's physical UK best-seller, and it's the Japanese developer’s first UK number one (via GamesIndustry.biz).

In 2013, PlatinumGames’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance reached second place. Astral Chain is its second most successful new IP launch after Bayonetta in 2010, and it’s the sixth Switch game to seize the pole position this year.

The competition was strong, though and there were 1,500 boxed sales between first and fourth place. Snapping up second place was THQ Nordic’s Wreckfest, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan was only 250 copies behind the racing game. Just 300 sales below the spook ‘em up, Remedy’s Control settled in fourth place. This makes four new entries to the UK’s physical games chart, which is quite nice.

Collection of Mana was the only other new release, that secured a place at number 22 in the list. Marvel’s Spider-Man swung back into the top ten with a 221 per cent sales increase, after tempting customers into a web of discounts at UK retail outlets.
