20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for its Assassin’s Creed movie, based on the on-hiatus Ubisoft franchise.

Judged on the two minutes seen in the trailer things seem very much in-line with the feel of the game series, even ending with the iconic Leap of Faith dive.

The blurb from the trailer adds: “Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.”

Joining Fassbender are Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Khalid Abdalla and Michael K. Williams.

Assassin’s Creed is set to open in the UK on Boxing Day.
