20th Century Fox’s Assassin’s Creed movie will now open on December 21, 2016, the studio announced overnight.
The flick had previously been scheduled for release this August, but was taken off the release calendar back in September. Back then Hollywood Reporter claimed the project had undergone “several rewrites” with the production grappling “with scheduling issues”.
Justin Kurzel will direct.
Further info on the movie isn’t yet available, but given the calamitous launch of Assassin’s Creed Unity late last year, the project may benefit from giving the franchise some time to get back on its feet.
