A note sent to US retailer GameSpot suggests Ubisoft intends to launch its own season pass’ worth of DLC content for Assassin’s Creed III.

The note, sent to Kotaku, says that the post-launch episodic content will be handled by a “complementary development team” Ubisoft is currently in the process of assembling.

The note continues, politely asking Gamestop staff to start encouraging customers to pre-order the season pass alongside the game. “We know you’re familiar with the ‘Season Pass’ concept and, beginning shortly, we’ll start to take pre-orders of our very own. We’d love your continued assistance in informing pre-order customers that a better value is available for those who pre-order Assassin’s Creed with the ‘Season Pass'”.

The note says this will all kick off “shortly”, so expect an official announcement from Ubisoft any day now.

Assassin’s Creed III will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 31.
