Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launch title, Ubisoft has confirmed.

Game director Ashraf Ismail announced the news in an interview with ElderGeek, confirming that Assassin’s Creed 4 “will release when the [next-gen] consoles are available.

“We are a launch title for those platforms,” he said. “Honestly, we want to push the game as fast out the door because we want people to pick it up and play with it. We’re very proud of this game.”

However, the PC version won’t release until “a few weeks after” the current-gen versions go on sale on November 1, Ismail says.

“We’re working hard on the PC version,” he said. “It’s one of the main platforms we work on in the office. To be honest, I’m just the creative guy. I might even be wrong about that date, it might actually be sooner…

“For our PC fans, don’t worry. The game on PC looks phenomenal.”
