ArenaNet producer Mike O’Brien has stated the ups and downs of EA studios would make him “nervous as an EA employee”.
Speaking in an interview with the Seattle Times, O’Brien stated that EA had been through “some seismic shifts over the last 10 years”.
These shifts include the lay off of 1000 employees in 2008, and the shut down of Vancouver-based Black Box studio.
“I would be nervous as an EA employee – is there going to be another one of these dramatic shifts?”
ArenaNet is the developer behind MMO Guild Wars and the upcoming Guild Wars 2, both of which are published by NCsoft.
NCsoft has recently hinted the beta for Guild Wars 2 will be open in 2012.
