Archer Maclean leaves Awesome Studios

Maclean had the role of Creative Director at Awsome Studios, a division of Ignition Entertainment. Ignition has stressed that all intellectual property rights to Awsome Studios titles will not be affected.

Maclean was the company’s spokesperson, often appearing in magazines and online publications, with his name even appearing as part of Mercury’s title. The development of Mercury 2 is said to be unaffected by the loss of Maclean.

Whilst Archer was the spokesperson for Awesome Studios, there’s a 28-strong team in currently in place and Ignition Entertainment will continue to offer the development outfit creative and commercial support for its forthcoming titles,” said managing director Vijay Chadha. “We’re confident that the Awesome Studios team will continue to produce games which will excite, challenge and delight next-generation videogames players.

Archer Maclean’s Mercury is scheduled to launch with the PSP in Europe on September 1st. Expect our review towards the end of August.
