Nexon has announced that Arc Raiders has sold over 4 million copies since releasing on October 30th. This has made Embark’s extraction shooter the “most successful global launch in Nexon’s history”.
This announcement comes courtesy of a press release translated from Japanese. As part of the press release, Nexon CEO, Lee Jeong-hun, said, “We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Embark Studios for achieving the most successful global launch in Nexon’s history”.
The CEO added that Nexon “are deeply impressed by the enthusiasm shown by our player community and look forward to building on that excitement with our content plans, including new maps, ARC vehicles, weapons, and quests, which will be available starting this month”.
In addition to revealing the impressive sales numbers, it was announced that Arc Raiders recently saw a peak concurrent player count of over 700,000 across PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Although it’s now stating the obvious, Arc Raiders has been a massive success so far. On Steam alone its player count recently surpassed 460,000, beating Battlefield 6. We also know that new content is on the way before the end of November including the Stella Montis map.
Embark have said they internally consider Arc Raiders a “10-year game,” and they have “ambitious post-launch plans” for 2026. We don’t know how much the game’s player count can continue to soar, but there is a fierce debate about whether it should be in contention for Game of the Year.
