According to Rhys Elliott of the Aliena Insight newsletter, Arc Raiders is nearing 7 million sales across all platforms. The majority of these sales are on Steam, where Embark’s extraction shooter has battered the competition four weeks in a row.
On November 11, Nexon confirmed that Arc Raiders had sold 4 million copies across all platforms to become Nexon’s biggest ever release. Now Arc Raiders has reportedly sold 4 million copies on Steam alone, selling 744,000 copies on Valve’s platform between November 17 and 23 to become Steam’s top weekly seller for the fourth consecutive week.
In comparison, between November 17 and 23, the closest competition was Peak and RV There Yet, which respectfully sold 316,000 and 312,000 copies. Last week, Embark picked up $25 million in revenue and has grossed a total of $130 million in revenue from Steam since releasing on October 30.
Rhys Elliott’s updated figures make no mention of the PS5 and Xbox. However, when Arc Raiders reportedly sold 2.5 million copies, the Alinea Insight newsletter showed that 69.2% of players are on Steam, with 17.3% on PS5 and 13.5% on Xbox.
Arc Raiders is a smashing success. It is nominated for Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards, although fans are miffed it isn’t nominated for Best Audio Design.
While its sales are impressive, Arc Raiders has also received praise from the industry, with Palworld developer hailing it as the new benchmark for Unreal Engine game development.
