Nintendo still plans to bring Animal Crossing to the 3DS, despite the game’s complete no-show at E3 last week.
Animal Crossing was announced back at E3 2010, with further details coming from a trailer at E3 2011, but Nintendo didn’t even bring the game to E3 2012.
However, there’s no need for concern, as Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Kotaku that “Animal Crossing is a game that is in development.”
It’s been confirmed that the 3DS game will give players the choice to work as Mayor of the village.
An autumn 2012 release had been expected in Japan.
