Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer has sold 2.02m copies since going on sale earlier this year, Nintendo has announced. 1.17m units were sold in Japan, with 850,000 sold overseas.

The game first launched in Japan in July before arriving in North America and Europe in September and October.

Splatoon, meanwhile, has sold 2.42m copies, almost two-thirds of which were sold outside of Japan, with Super Mario Maker managing to shift 1.88m copies since launching in September.

The sales figures account for both physical and digital versions, and copies bundled with Wii U hardware.

Mario Kart 8 remains Nintendo’s best-selling Wii U title, though, with sales having reached 5.87m as of September 30, 2015, meaning that over 1 in 2 Wii U owners have picked up the title. Wii U console sales currently stand at 10.73 million units worldwide.
