Angry Birds Star Wars and many more games confirmed for BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry 10 will launch with 70,000 apps in BlackBerry World, Marty Mallick, VP global alliance and business development, announced today at the BlackBerry 10 global launch event.

Apps will include multi-million selling hits such as Rovio’s Angry Birds: Star Wars, Plants vs Zombies, Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja.

“Thank you for your passion your partnership and your commitment,” said Mallick. “Their belief in BlackBerry 10 is amazing and has helped us make this launch a huge success – right out of the gate! We already have 70,000 applications available for BlackBerry 10 and with the momentum we have built…we will continue to see thousands of apps added to BlackBerry World each and every week.”

The full list of confirmed game apps includes: four titles from Rovio (Angry Birds and Angry Birds Star Wars included), Where’s My Water, Where’s My Perry, 15 titles from EA (including Plants vs. Zombies, Real Racing 3, Monopoly Millionaire, and Dead Space), 10 titles from Gameloft (including NOVA3, Asphalt 7, Spider-Man 4, Modern Combat 4, and Batman: The Dark Knight Rises), Jetpack Joyride HD, Fruit Ninja HD, Cut the Rope, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episodes 1 and 2.

In the UK, BlackBerry 10 will launch in the shape of the BlackBerry Z10, available beginning tomorrow from EE, O2, Vodafone, Phones 4u, BT, 3UK and the Carphone Warehouse.

Those users eyeing up the keyboard-equipped BlackBerry Q10 will have to wait until April.
