The Angry Birds Christmas levels will be released as a free update to Angry Birds Halloween, developer Rovio has announced.
Posting on Twitter in response to fan questions, the studio said that Angry Birds Christmas will be a “free update”.
“Halloween was separate because we need to keep app under 20Mb,” the Tweet added. “Christmas is coming to Halloween.”
The update is now in the hands of Apple, and assuming the approval process goes smoothly it should be available this week.
Angry Birds has been a huge success, shifting millions of copies. The second game, Angry Birds Halloween, sold over a million units in just six days.
Rovio could quite easily have sold the Christmas edition for the same £0.59 price tag, but has instead opted to strengthen the Halloween product by giving away the levels as a free update. It’s a move which will help ensure the Angry Birds brand remains a favourite on the App Store.
