Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia believes Activision Blizzard will delay the release of StarCraft II, pushing its debut back from October 2009 (unconfirmed by Blizzard) to 2010.

Bhatia has pointed to the delayed launch of the StarCraft II beta, indicating that this will have a knock-on effect to the full game’s release.

This follows news that Activision has delayed the release of sc-fi FPS Singularity, shifting its launch to Q1 2010 in order ensure the title’s chance of success is not hampered by the November release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Blizzard has declined to comment, but with its annual Blizzcon event set for August an announcement regarding a StarCraft II release date could be on the cards.
