At the GameStop Managers Conference, it was leaked that remastered versions of Aladdin and The Lion King will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in autumn this year (via Gematsu).
The original Aladdin and The Lion King video games were released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System almost sixteen years ago. And just to make you feel super duper old, Simba and Aladdin would have just gotten their GCSE results earlier this month.
Twitter user WolverineFactor tweeted the announcement from the conference, which was then corroborated by an image uploaded by GameXplain. The image shows the Aladdin and The Lion King remastered collection bundled as one game, and an additional source spoke to Gematsu on what we could expect from the re-released classics.
Pardon my wording they are HD Remasters – will be available to preorder at GameStop tomorrow morning

Aladdin and The Lion King will be playable in their original as well as 1080p resolutions, and will come with their original soundtracks. There will be a fast-forward and rewind feature to allow players to reach any section of the game, and if players get stuck, the game will be able to take over to show how the player can clear the level. These games were notoriously tricky, so I’m certain this is a welcome assist, even though we’re all a bit older and should theoretically be better at games now.
There is a vague launch window for the remastered collection; it will arrive at some point this autumn. Currently, this leak has not been confirmed by a developer or publisher, so once we receive official information, be prepared for sensational news. Hopefully.
