Amazon UK has announced a new trade-in program offering customers the chance to upgrade to the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions of Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 or Need For Speed: Rivals for as little as £10.

Amazon’s promotion offers £37 trade-in credit for the current-gen versions when purchasing the next-gen copy. The discount will be applied at checkout provided you’ve completed the trade-in by December 21, 2013.

Because the credit is applied at checkout, it isn’t yet known whether existing pre-order customers will be able to take advantage of the offer.

To receive the promotion, Amazon customers must follow these steps:

  • Initiate a qualifying current-generation video game trade-in between September 18, 2013 and December 31, 2013.
  • If the trade-in is accepted, you will receive a confirmation email, and your account will be credited with a Gift Certificate for a minimum of £15 if it is in ‘Like new’ condition
  • Add a qualifying item described in the offer from the list of next-generation titles to your Shopping Cart.
  • The £22 promotional Gift Certificate will be applied automatically to your purchase of the qualifying item.

The promotion is similar to that announced by GAME, which guarantees a minimum £40 trade-in for current-gen titles when trading towards a next-gen copy.

Unlike GAME’s offer, however, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions do not need to have been purchased from Amazon.

Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Need For Speed: Rivals are all due to launch alongside Xbox One on November 22 and PlayStation 4 on November 29.
