Atari has announced that its upcoming PS3 version of Alone in the Dark will go by the title, Alone in the Dark: Inferno, and promises an even more entertaining, immersive and action-packed blockbuster experience.

The reworked game stays true to the storyline of the previous versions in which gamers take on the role of paranormal investigator Edward Carnby. Over the course of an apocalyptic night he must fight to survive and uncover the secret behind New York’s Central Park.

New to the PS3 version is a full 360 degree camera, fine-tuned controls, a refined inventory system, more on-screen tips, improved car dynamics, a tuned version of the 59th Street level, better implementation of the Spectral Vision gameplay, and a brand new action sequence which has been added to Episode 6.

You don’t have to take Atari’s word for it either; a demo highlighting the host of changes is scheduled to go live on the PlayStation Store early in November.
