Speaking to Gamasutra, Denis Dyack, president and founder of Silicon Knights has revealed that while a commercial failure for Too Human would be devastating, it’s most likely this wouldn’t be the end for the development studio.
“I don’t want to be distracted by some negative possibility when I can focus on the positive,” said Dyack when posed with the question of the game failing. “So, yeah, it would be really, really bad, and in some sense… Would it kill us? I don’t know. We’d probably recover.”
The omens are good though, as Dyack points out.
“And what I think – it’s really interesting, that I didn’t know that, that all the major hits had been significantly delayed… Hopefully that will bode well for Too Human,” he said.
Dyack and the Silicon Knights development team are doing all they can to ensure the game is a success though.
“In the end, we could only make the type of games that we’re proud of making, and we just, from Silicon Knights’ perspective, we will not give in to anything else. We just won’t let it happen,” Dyack explained.
After a shaking start, Silicon Knights’ Too Human has certainly come a long way and is finally shaping up to be a Xbox 360 exclusive other console owners should be jealous of. There’s no firm release date just yet, but we’re expecting it to hit stores before the both Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 later this year.
