After its debut as a Flash game in 2002, Alien Hominid appeared on PS2, GameCube, Xbox, GBA and mobile phones, and now it’s heading to Xbox Live Arcade. A port of the game, complete with higher resolution graphics and widescreen support, should find its way onto the digital distribution service before the end of the year. Sadly, it seems online multiplayer might not happen.

It’s just scary,” Behemoth developer Tom Fulp told Game Informer. “We started playing with the multiplayer stuff. We could definitely do it but you have to deal with all of the stuff where someone has lag and everything else has to catch up.

Xbox 360 owners will also be given some extra stuff exclusive to the next-gen version, but Fulp wasn’t giving any details away. Fulp and fellow Behemoth developer Dan Paladin also discussed Castle Crashers, a new Xbox Live Arcade game coming to the service in Q1 2007. In the game, you and up to three mates take control of a bunch of knights who embark on a quest to regain a stolen idol and a kidnapped princess.

You’re more out to just destroy everything and find out where it is,” said Paladin. “You don’t really have any idea where you’re going. The guys are kind of like antiheroes. You still root for them, but they’re not really being very straightforward about it.

No details on pricing have been released, but we’ll keep you updated on all news relating to the Xbox Live Arcade.
