According to a report on Deadline, MGM and Warner Bros. are moving forward with a sequel to last year's Tomb Raider film starring Alicia Vikander.

Amy Jump has been hired to pen the script for Tomb Raider 2, and has previously worked on films including High Rise and Free Fire. Vikander is on track to step back into Lara Croft's hiking boots, although not much else is known about the sequel at present.

Tomb Raider was released back in March 2018, and is based on the critically acclaimed 2013 Tomb Raider video game reboot. It wasn't a huge success with critics, but notched up a respectable $274.7 at the worldwide box office.

The rebooted Tomb Raider series recently wrapped with September's Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which Josh thought was pretty decent.
