Alan Wake launched for PC last week, self-published on Steam by Remedy, and has already sold enough copies to recoup all development and marketing costs.

Taking to the game’s official forums in the early hours of this morning, Remedy executive vice president Aki Järvilehto revealed the great news.

“We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we’re certainly very excited about PC.” said Järvilehto.

Alan Wake on PC boasts improved visuals over the Xbox 360 version, support for 3D and comes bundled with DLC packs The Writer and The Signal.

A retail boxed version is planned for March 2.
