Remedy’s Alan Wake has been kept behind closed doors pretty much since it was announced back in May 2005, but gamers eager to get more info on the game might soon be in luck. A forum moderator on the game’s official forum has stated “the media “blackout” won’t continue for too much longer”.
Another mod also chipped in, confirming that it’s not Microsoft who is responsible for the media blackout.
“Remedy is. They have always wished to develop a game within their own time frame without restrictions placed by publishers. That way they can create the best game that they want,” explained the mod.
The moderator continued: “Due to the success that they have achieved with their previous games they can do that now with Alan Wake.”
While Microsoft has labelled Alan Wake as one its most anticipated titles of 2008, Remedy isn’t so confident of this date, simply stating it will be released “when it’s done”.
