Popular Korean-developed MMO Aion will be making the move over to a free-to-play model on February 28 in Europe.
The game, which has been localised to English, German, and French, will experience the change-over simultaneously.
Following on from this Aion will be hit with its Version 3.0 update, which will go live this spring.
Users who are currently subscribing to the game and who transfer to the new Aion servers by February 27 will receive six Aion coins daily to their account in compensation. These can then be spent in the game’s item shop starting February 28.
Aion will be going free-to-play in the US come spring, in conjunction with the 3.0 update.
The team has stated the change is part of an attempt to gain a larger population of players on servers, as it has become increasingly more deserted.
