Following on from its takes on Knight Rider and Flash Gordon, Volition is rather enjoying itself with its 80s themed trailers. An action-adventure set in the Saints Row universe, Agents of Mayhem’s latest trailer more-than channels the spirit of Tom Selleck and that ever so delectable moustache of his, with 3rd Street favourite Johnny Gat sporting Magnum’s classic Hawaiian shirt and facial hair in tribute.
Even if you‘ve never seen a trailer for this game, no context is required. Agents of Mayhem is heavily inspired by those fantastically over-the-top TV shows from the 80s, where its heroes complete quests and missions in order to save the world. Naturally.
As the trailer shows, saving the world requires sharp clothing, witty comments, a killer moustache — oh and plenty of explosions. All of the explosions in fact. Agents of Mayhem continues to look like a lot of fun, and if you liked the Saints Row series, you could very well enjoy the heck out of this.
Agents of Mayhem is out for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 18.
