Agents of Mayhem now has an official release date of August 18 2017. The North American release date is August 15. AoM is the new game from Saints Row developers Volition, and is set in the Saints Row Universe (albeit in a distant future).
AoM is a third person action-adventure game. The titular Agents are a group of mercenaries living off the grid in Seoul. There are 12 in total, but you pick three for each mission and can switch between them as you feel like it. The team of anti-heroes looks like a diverse mix of heavies, gunners, assassins and so on. They all have amazing names like ‘Hardtack’ and ‘Kingpin’, and purple, the Saints’ signature colour, features heavily.
The trailer lovingly rips off The A-Team, using the original theme music and riffing off the introduction from the original 80s TV show. There are also shots of people walking away from explosions without looking behind them, and a brief Knight Rider reference. It’s well 80s.
