Speaking to Conde Nast Portfolio, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has revealed that the Guitar Hero franchise is “not just about guitars,” and confirmed that future entries in the series will feature “a lot of other instruments” and “vocals”.
With MTV Games, Harmonix and EA having raised the bar with Rock Band, Activision could be forced to follow suit with a full band experience of its own, which coupled with the hugely successful Guitar Hero brand should make for an even more successful formula.
The next title in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is scheduled for release in June.
