Activision Blizzard will triple its output of Guitar Hero titles and downloadable content by 2010, Activision publishing CEO Mike Griffith revealed overnight at the company’s Analyst Day.

This follows plans by the publisher to double its Guitar Hero output in 2009. Griffith noted that the growth of the franchise will be supported by increased development resources and more hardware supplies. Last week the publisher completed the purchase of UK developer FreeStyleGames; the studio is currently working on “localised downloadable content” for the Guitar Hero brand.

The next instalment in the multi-million selling franchise, Guitar Hero: World Tour, is scheduled for release later this year on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2.
