Free-to-play PS3 dogfighter Ace Combat Infinity has been downloaded over 1 million times following its launch back in May, Bandai Namco has announced.

To celebrate, the publisher is offering all players a Mirage 2000-5 White Tiger, a special multirole fighter jet emblazoned with black and white stripes “which gives off a distinguished presence and plays an active part in battles both air and ground”.

“Thank you all very much for your support,” said producer Kazutoki Kono upon reaching the milestone. “We truly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. Ace Combat Infinity has exceeded one million downloads worldwide in just about 1.5 months. This is the first time we took up a challenge and released Ace Combat series as a free-to-play title.

“Thanks to the wondrous support of fans of the series, this challenge has past the million downloads. We will definitely continue to strive for attractive and exciting contents to exceed fans’ expectations and also to achieve greater results. We will continue to do our best to keep our key message: ‘THE SKY IS YOURS'”.

Haven’t tried it yet? You can give Infinity a go for free by downloading it from the PS3 PlayStation Store.
