The creator of the popular Ace Attorney franchise is interested in bringing it to the
recently-unveiled Nintendo 3DS.
The puzzle-solving series may provide a chance for Capcom to create a 3D-enabled
Ace Attorney game, Shu Takumi told VideoGamer.com at E310 last week.
“It’s a little bit difficult to say,” Takumi said. “We just saw it here; we’re not sure
what we can do with [the technology] yet.
“But certainly if the opportunity presented itself and we could make it, then it might
be a really good chance for us to use that technology.
“But we’ll have to wait and see what the future brings.”
While there’s nothing concrete behind Takumi’s comments, it’s encouraging to hear
the developer is interested in Nintendo’s impressive 3D tech.
Ace Attorney is a popular name in handheld gaming, and with so many other high-
profile franchises heading to the 3DS, it’s not unreasonable to assume the justice-
obsessed lawyer will, too.
The potential game may have to wait until Takumi is done with his new action
puzzle game Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, due for release on the DS later this
year.
It’s got a slightly darker theme than Ace Attorney, but it has much in common and
hopes to appeal to a similar demographic.
