A Thor video game named after a Swedish metal band is out now

As reported by Gamespot, Ride & Crash Games and Swedish metal band Amon Amarth have launched a 2D platformer where you play as Thor and aim to, as the press release says, ‘cleanse Midgard from all of the vile creatures that are threatening the (*ahem*) peaceful Viking way of life”

The iOS and Android game, titled Amon Amarth after the band, contains four worlds with 12 different levels and ‘four epic battles,’ as well as chip-tune versions of the group’s music. If Thor: Ragnarok has inspired you to pick up the game, you just have to part with $9 and it’s yours.

After the musicians met with Ride & Crash’s founder Robert Chirico two years ago, they bonded over ‘epic amounts of beer and a common love of video games,’ which resulted in the Amon Amarth game you can see in the trailer below.
